Nice software, graphics & range of tournaments, bought by PokerStars and relaunched in November 2012 after closing for 18 months. The popular site is now a shadow of it’s former self ranking as the 6th most popular online poker room.
It is still a good site if your sick of playing tables full of maniacs or if you want to feel your genuinely improving your poker strategy as above the micro stakes most of players aren’t the crazy idiots that you find at like 888Poker or Bodog. Being the sister site of PokerStars has the advantage of being able to transfer funds between your two accounts seamlessly.
Recent changes to loyalty program and more re-load bonuses means they are now aiming the site more at recreational players than pandering to multi-tabling grinders. A healthy diversity and a less top heavy rewards system should help Full Tilt traffic improve.

Good: Nice graphics, good ties to PokerStars with linked player accounts. FullTilt has been the source of a lot of innovative games like Rush Poker and hopefully it will develop further.
Bad: Huge drop in traffic before PokerStars bailout means it’s generally a much tighter site for the moment, with a core of loyal grinders making the games tougher than elsewhere.
Verdict: Now owned by PokerStars, Full Tilt is only the 6th most popular online poker site. It is one of the tougher sites but it still retains a certain something that regulars find hard to let go. You can transfer funds between Stars and Full Tilt instantly back and forward which is a definite positive as it still has some good tournaments.

As with all poker rooms sign-up bonus offers have all reduced substantially and are no longer a reason to choose one site over another. However all they tend to reward regular play and offer re-deposit bonuses.

It’s not too bad at the micro limits. However things can get tougher moving up the stakes pretty quickly, compared to equivalent stakes on other sites, Fulltilt (and PokerStars) the players are generally better and the games are harder to beat . While online poker popularity grew FullTilt got a lot more juicy games like all the sites, however it now has some of the tighter games online with lots of serious tight nitty players, some with fancy play syndrome but with aspirations of becoming a FullTilt Pro.
The percentage to the flop rate is a lot lower here than most other sites so games are tighter and players like to think they are better players and so complete donks and even some ABC poker might not cut it. Full Tilt had become more nitty and less fishy as many previous newbies and recreational players had got better and spending time reading poker strategy and even joining poker training sites and getting coaching.
Player Traffic: 2,300 peak daily players
A fraction of the size it used to be – Both cash games and tournaments numbers have dwindled since PokerStars saved it from oblivion. The bulk of players are in lower limits and in the tournaments.
Player Transfers: Player to player transfers can be made and the minimum transfer amount has now been reduced to $1. (Players must have filled out their full address info for this function to work).
You can also transfer between your own PokerStars account and your own Full Tilt account instantly which is really useful and has now made FTP little more than a satellite novelty of PokerStars.
Network: Not strictly in a network but the site is now owned by the Rational Group aka PokerStars so players can transfer some of their bankroll instantly back and forward between the to sites.
Software & Graphics: Unique with several easy custom options to change the look of the tables. You will either love or hate the default cartoon avatars. But if like me you don’t like them its very easy to change to other options which have a very simple clean design or somewhere in between. The graphics are very good however you prefer your poker table to look. Playability is pretty good too, you can choose your own avatar and there is good stats info at your finger tips.
I’m not a big fan of the avatars but this isn’t a problem as you can change the look of the tables from brash and flash down to simple and clean. If like me your not a big fan of the cartoon avatars you can take them off too.
Adjusting the size of Full Tilt Poker tables is easy. Just grab any corner of your table screen to make them bigger or smaller as you like them.
Save Custom Layout
After configuring your tables the way you want, you are able to save up to five different custom layouts. Once you have laid out your tables the way you want them, click the “Layout” button on the top right of any open table, and then select “Manage Custom Layouts”. Select one of the five slots, name the layout you want to save (e.g. multi-table, 4 up, big screen), and then click on “Save Current Layout”. Once you have saved your layouts, choose which one you want to use from your list in the Manage Custom Layouts screen. Highlighting your preferred layout, click on “Apply Layout” and it’s there for you.
Rename or delete any of your custom layouts at any time by highlighting them in the Manage Custom Layouts screen and clicking the corresponding action button.
