Erick Lindgren, aka E-Dog was born in Burney California. An established professional poker player and author, Lindgren plays for Team Full Tilt Poker and has placed in more money finishes than any other player. Earning himself a total of two World Poker Tour titles, one World Series of Poker bracelet and a number of cash finishes over his career.
He enjoyed gambling more than most during his teen years making ridiculous prop bets with friends. By the age of 19 he took a job as a casino blackjack dealer at one of the local casinos in California which is also where he learned to play poker. By the age of 20 he was playing poker professionally while working as a prop player for one of the casinos. During that year he cashed in a handful of tournaments but it would be the $3,000 No-limit Hold’em Main Event at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Classic that would give Lindgren the recognition that he deserved. With a final table consisting of Carlos Mortenson and Vinny Vinh, Lindgren would successfully defeat the other opponents to take down his first title and a prize of $ 228,192 for his efforts. The following year he won the WPT PartyPoker Million III cruise which earned him another $1,000,000.
Over the next few years if Lindgren wasn’t one of the top three finishers in an event, he was at least cashing in them, earning just over $1,000,000 from tournaments in 2005 and almost $2,000,000 in 2006 which includes his 1st place finish in the $120,000 Full Tilt Poker Pro Showdown, Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament Season 3, and the $ 3,000 No Limit Hold’em Fourth Annual Five-Star World Poker Classic.
Following the success of previous years, Lindgren took down the 2007 Aussie Millions $100,000 Hold’em Event which earned him another $1,000,000. After making it to five final tables in the 2007 WSOP, Lindgren would not earn himself a bracelet until the following year when he would win the $5,000 Limit/No Limit Hold’em Event in the 2008.
He has authored and co-authored a handful of books which include his own “World Poker Tour: Making the Final Table” , which provides an overall strategy for tournament poker. Lindgren has earned two WPT titles, made 5 final table appearances and cashed in 16 WPT events since his career first started.
We mentioned that Lindgren loves his prop bets, and in 2007 he won $350,000 bet against Phil Ivey and other pros by accepting one of the most talked about prop bets in poker history. Lindgren had to play four rounds of golf at the Las Vegas “Bear’s Best” golf course with each game played back to back. The terms of the bet included that Lindgren would have to walk through the course, no caddy was to be used and he would have to shoot under a 100 in each game. The four games must be complete within the same day and he had from sunrise to sunset to do it. Even with a scorching 106 degree temperature that day, he managed to play each game consecutively to win the bet.
His total live tournament winnings thus far exceed $7,000,000, earning him a seat next to Daniel Negreanu, Joe Hachem, and Chris Moneymaker as one of the top earners.
